A. Mission

The School is a government-aided school under the sponsorship of Yan Oi Tong, providing secondary education service to the adolescents in Tuen Mun district.  The School stresses the importance of teachers' professional development; actively connect with parents and collaborates with external parties; strives to create an ideal learning environment in which quality education service thrives.  It is our belief that education is the key to nurturing people who are learned, responsible and possess multi-disciplinary skills.  These people will continue to serve the cause of social justice and bring our country to new levels of success.  Such end is best echoed by our School Motto "Establish Yourself, Nurture Others".

B. Targets

1. Students

  1. To assist students in acquiring basic knowledge and skills, including the effective use of languages, numbers and information technology, and to develop multiple intelligences.
  2. To foster the students' attitudes and skills in life-long learning, rational thinking and critical reflection.
  3. To train the students' physique and will power; to nurture their ability to appreciate and create beauty.

2. Teaching Staff

  1. Under the spirit of ‘All for Students’: To understand the lives and minds of the students; teaching work is after all driven by the overriding objective of achieving wholesome growth for students.
  2. To strengthen management, refine the organization structure and raise operational efficiency; leaders at all levels to lead by example.
  3. To establish a culture of continuous improvement; to enhance teachers' professional attitude and skills.

C. Education Policies

1. Overall Policy

1.1 To best prepare our students for different public examinations, by helping them build a solid foundation in Chinese, English and Mathematics, with special emphasis on raising the students' English standards, as well as a balanced exposure to applications of information technology. 
1.2 To use learning objectives as a core tool for curriculum design and performance assessment, in order to maximize the study motivation of students.

(1) Focusing on students with above-average capabilities, to enhance their study skills (e.g. self-learning ability, analytical skills, and knowledge application ability, etc.), and consolidate and expand their knowledge base.
(2) Focusing on those below-par students, to assist them in grasping the core subject knowledge and improve their study skills; to bring them up to an acceptable level of attainment through the artful use of incentives and penalties.

1.3 To promote students' logical thinking and stimulate their creativity so that they can learn to solve problems independently and rationally.
1.4 To educate the students about the importance of life-long learning, and at the same time enhance their adaptability to changes.
1.5 To encourage students to learn about their civic rights and obligations.
1.6 To help students understand the cosmopolitan nature of the Hong Kong society; building consensus while accommodating differences in viewpoints and cultures.
1.7 To cultivate the students' interests and stamina in sports activities and get them into the habit of exercising.
1.8 To strengthen the students' abilities in appreciating both oriental and western culture.

2. Curricula

2.1 To develop students' multi-disciplinary skills through both formal and informal curricula.
2.2 To encourage students to build fruitful interpersonal relationships through caring for and learning from the peers.
2.3 To enable students to build their leadership and self-governance capabilities through a variety of extra-curricular activities and student organizations.

3. Disciplining

3.1 The School Ethos advocates unadorned lifestyles and strict discipline, instilling in students a sense of self-awareness and gradually shaping their personal virtues.
3.2 To install an equitable punishment and reward system, whereby students learn to appreciate the meaning and importance of such institution.
3.3 To help students understand the spirit of rule of law, they are required to demonstrate self-awareness, self-discipline and self-control both in and outside of the classroom.

4.1 To impart to students concepts of family and friends, to encourage them to get to know their communities and care about the developments of our mother country and the world at large.

D. Education Policies (Teachers)

The School believes in the ‘All for Students; All by Teachers’ model, which induces continual improvement in education quality through the enhancement of the teachers' professional attitude and skills.

1.2 To strengthen middle management to improve school efficacy.
1.3 All heads of departments to become accountable figures and experts in subject knowledge and administration.
