Balanced Development in Five Domains, prioritising Moral Education,

Diverse Development, and Showcasing Talents

The motto of our school—"Establish Yourself, Nurture Others"—reflects the expectations of our founder, Dr. Tin Ka Ping, and embodies the long-standing educational principles of our institution. We aim to cultivate empathetic individuals who are willing to give back to society.

While we strive for excellence and high-value academic achievement, we strongly focus on fostering moral development in the hope that students can acquire good attitudes and habits for learning and life. We look to our teachers as role models, guiding students in developing strong character traits that contribute positively to both the school and society. In academics, we encourage our educators to stay abreast of current trends, continuously learning and innovating to adapt to the evolving societal landscape. This year, our Language Department is actively engaged in the Tin Ka Ping Foundation's "AI Enrollment Project" to enhance students' self-regulation skills and boost their learning effectiveness.

Our goal is to help students cultivate positive learning attitudes and habits while mastering essential knowledge and skills, encompassing language, numeracy, and information technology. Additionally, we emphasize the development of multiple intelligences to nurture students' lifelong learning capabilities because we firmly believe that each individual has a diverse range of strengths and untapped potentials waiting to be discovered. Some students excel in community service, communication, and teamwork, while others shine in academic pursuits, sports, arts, music, or performance, each bursting with creativity and expressiveness.

In the first staff meeting this year, I shared my vision with all teachers, hoping that each student can "develop diversely and showcase their talents." The school should provide various ways for students to shine in their respective strengths. Thus, we will be offering diverse learning opportunities and resources to meet the different needs and talents of our students, including a range of courses and rich extracurricular activities, along with ample training and guidance. We will also encourage active participation and talent display through awards, certificates, and performances. Having actively promoted student participation in various activities and competitions, thirteen study tours to various global destinations such as Mainland China provinces and cities, Japan, South Korea, and the UK have been organized. Our students have also participated in various competitions. Most notably, our biology students travelled to Paris for the International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition (iGEM), where they won a gold medal and ranked among the top ten worldwide.

These collective efforts are designed to broaden students' horizons, nurture their interests, boost confidence, ignite creativity, and unlock their full potential. Our ultimate goal is to mold visionary and accountable student leaders who are not only academically excellent but also confident in their abilities, showcasing their strengths and brilliance.

In our pursuit of comprehensive student development, I envision a strengthened partnership between home and school. By harnessing the combined resources and support of families and the school, we can provide students with a holistic range of opportunities to discover their talents and pursue their aspirations seamlessly. This collaborative approach ensures that students receive the necessary support both at home and in school, facilitating their journey toward realizing their dreams.
