Introduction
Hong Kong's New Secondary Curriculum, implemented since 2009, requires students to take various subjects and accumulate other learning experiences. In other words, students are required to accumulate at least 405 hours of participation in non-academic areas of learning.
Other learning experiences (abbreviated as OLE below) covers five major aspects: sports development, art development, moral and civic education, social service, and work-related experiences. OLE is established to serve as complement to core and elective subjects to foster whole-person development among students.
OLE classes are provided in S4-S5 across three semesters. Students are required to take one OLE subject on sports, art or career planning in each of the three semesters. In addition, a masterclass is offered between each school year. This is a themed workshop for students of the same form to participate in, through which they can obtain understanding of culture and developments relevant to the chosen theme.
Objectives
The school's OLE classes are established to provide students with exposure to sports, arts and career planning-related subjects outside of the regular curriculum, to enrich their learning experience.
